I've never bought the gatekeeping argument that such players are not used to the Tier 10 meta and so would not be able to perform to the same standard. After the rental period expires any Upgrades are simply moved to your Inventory to be used later. It's always a good idea to buy the Upgrades.

As you say it opens the game up to players who have played up to Tier 8 (as it was to qualify for the mission to obtain the rentals) but not reached Tier 10. It's been done before for Ranked Tier 10, and I for one never had a problem with it. I see no harm is allowing a 1 ship rental, so the entire base can participate.

Though rank 10 is the pinnacle of the game and rewards those players who have earned those lines to participate. The only negative I see if the cost of those upgrades or lack of deep captain level, but your not really expecting to go to rank 1 in a rental. This can give them a positive sneak peak to a pinnacle line ship.ġ. If a new or intermediate player is unsure of a line he may want to do. Give the player a taste of that lines end result. The player can invest in upgrades he can keep later or level a captain to keep later on.ĥ. Intermediate and expert players usually blow thru the ranks.Ĥ. It would allow more participation and it would not lead to potato games, because ranked usually weeds those level players out at a certain rank. Your talking one ship-you can limit the choice of class. If you wish to charge a doubloon cost for this option for fairness. Here you would do 1 ship rental randomly.

This would not effect line grinding in any way. I would like to see a 1 ship rental option for players for them to participate in RANKED seasons. And for the record, the game mode isn't just yours or mine, it's everyone's, even the rotten spuds. If this was suggested before. If both teams have CVs and they're both potatoes, then their spudness should cancel each other out and turn the battle into sort of a 6v6.
